Belgian Betting Round 10: Club to keep up pressure on Standard.

Each week, BeNeFoot will bring you some interesting bets as the season progresses. Here are our top three picks for this weekend.

KAA Gent – KRC Genk X2 @ 1.45

KAA Gent are having a very difficult season so far. This week they decided to sack their Spanish coach Victor Fernandez and hire the experienced Mircea Rednic. Although the naturalised Belgian won his first game in charge of Standard, I think that Rednic will need more time than a only one week to make this Gent side more competitive. The biggest problem for De Buffalo’s is that there is just not enough quality in the team to fight for a place in Play-Off 1. Racing Genk were the only Belgian team in Europe to win and they welcome back Khaleem Hyland. Although Genk are seen as favourites, they did drop points in Charleroi and Beveren so be on the safe side by backing them double chance.

Club Brugge -1 against OH Leuven @ 1.90

Club Brugge have had two narrow wins under Michel Preud’homme but this game at home to OHL is the ideal opportunity to win by a more convincing margin. Michel Preud’homme wants his team to put a lot of pressure high up and the onus is on Blauw-Zwart as the home side to take the game to their opponents. Vadis Odjidja has been playing well lately and is one of Club’s key players of Club Brugge. Sobota and Lestienne are two of the most dangerous wide players in the Jupiler Pro League and will have given the OHL players nightmares last night. Club Brugge can only be happy with 3 points and an overwhelming performance. OH Leuven is together with Cercle Brugge, Mons and KV Oostende the biggest candidates for a play off 3 ticket.

Lokeren 0ver 1.5 goals against Sporting Charleroi @ 1.82

Last week Lokeren lost an important game, going down 2-4 at home to PO1 rival Zulte Waregem. Peter Maes and his men will do everything to take the three points home against Charleroi. With Ayanda Patosi, who’s fighting back after a bad injury, getting back in shape Lokeren will only become stronger over the next few weeks but their attacking trio of Harbaoui, Vanaken and Remacle have been a real handful so far this campaign. Charleroi are also a team who likes to attack but they find it hard to keep the goals out at the other end, despite the wonderful efforts of Parfait Mandanda in goal. You may also want to look at Harbaoui or Vanaken to score.
