Belgian Betting Round 20: Racing Genk back on track?

Each week, Bjorn De Cock from BeNeFoot will bring you some interesting bets as the season progresses. Here are our top three picks for this weekend.

Cercle Brugge – Racing Genk, 2 @ 1.90 (7/10)

Racing Genk lost four of their five last matches. A win against Cercle Brugge is a must for the title contender. Mario Been and his men are missing Ilombe Mboyo. Racing Genk will be happy as Mboyo is back in the squad for this weekend’s match. Jelle Vossen and Benjamin De Ceulaer are both great players but they miss some air force in front. Still, Racing Genk should have enough quality to beat Cercle Brugge. Lorenzo Staelens and his men don’t need the three points this weekend but they will give everything to steal some points from a bleeding Genk. They could even start dreaming from Play Off 1 if they beat Racing Genk this weekend.

KV Kortrijk to score against KV Mechelen @ 1.37 (9/10)

We have to admit that KV Kortrijk is having a bad period. But I’m surprised that KV Mechelen, who are having one of their worst years since the Play Off system started, are the favourite for this match. Harm Van Veldhoven, coach of KV Mechelen, needs to keep the three points home. KV Mechelen are only 13th in the standings so they could use it. I kept it safe by only betting on KV Kortrijk to score as I think that it’s unlikely that KV Mechelen will have a clean sheet against the attacking force of KV Kortrijk.

KAA Gent – Club Brugge, Double Chance Club Brugge @ 1.57 (7,5/10)

KAA Gent are improving the last couple of weeks. Against Anderlecht they played a terrific first half but a terrible second half. Most of the players of Gent couldn’t keep up the pace with Anderlecht. KAA Gent played in the Cofidis Cup this weekend a hard battle against KV Kortrijk. Club Brugge was already eliminated and had all the time to focus on this weekend’s match. Michel Preud’homme and Club Brugge could become the winner of the weekend as Standard Liège meet Anderlecht on this 20th Match Day.
