Belgian Betting Round 24: Franky Vercauteren versus Mario Been

Each week, Bjorn De Cock from BeNeFoot will bring you some interesting bets as the season progresses. Here are our top three picks for this weekend.

KV Mechelen – Racing Genk, Double Chance 2 @ 1.45 (8/10)

We all expected last week that Mario Been would have been sacked after another loss in the competition. Racing Genk lost against KAA Gent and only gathered 3 points out of 27. This week, Mario Been and his man face Franky Vercauteren’s KV Mechelen. Been was the successor of Franky Vercauteren so the former Anderlecht player/coach is still familiar with most of the players of Genk. That’s certainly an advantage for Vercauteren but I just can’t see Racing Genk lose another match in the competition. Against KAA Gent they started to play a little bit better and both Been and the players know that winning this weekend is very important.

Sporting Charleroi – KV Oostende, both teams to score @ 1.83 (6/10)

Sporting Charleroi host KV Oostende this weekend. After selling Danijel Milicevic, Onur Kaya and David Pollet you can certainly say that Charleroi won’t be the team anymore that they were before the transfer period. But like in the good old days I think that Charleroi did some good transfers and will quickly fit in their new signings. Both teams could use the three points to stay out of sight of the Play Off 3 teams.  KV Oostende already showed that they can score against any team in the competition. Both teams to score @ 1.83 is a very decent odd.

Sporting Lokeren to score against Zulte Waregem @ 1.30 (9,5/10)

Sporting Lokeren probably have one of the best attacking lines in the Belgian competition. Even against Zulte Waregem I see them score easily. Francky Dury lost with Junior Malanda a very important buffer in his tactical system. He was the perfect man to keep Lokeren’s playmaker Hans Vanaken off his duties. Sven Kums and Olafur Skulason are great players but both miss some recovering capacities. Zulte Waregem also miss the successor of Junior Malanda, Mamoutou N’Diaye is suspended.  That will be a problem for Zulte Waregem as they will miss a real warrior in midfield. Lokeren to score @ 1.30 is almost a banker but you never know in football.
