Belgian Betting Round 9: Goals galore in Lokeren?

Each week, BeNeFoot will bring you some interesting bets as the season progresses. Here are our top three picks for this weekend.

Sporting Lokeren – Zulte Waregem OVER 2.5 goals @ 1.62 (7/10)

This weekend all eyes are on Lokeren and Zulte Waregem, who once again are putting the cat amongst the pigeons at the top end of the league.  It’s fourth against third so the three points are important for both clubs if they want to stay in the slipstream of Club Brugge and Standard Liège.  Zulte Waregem score a lot of goals but have started to concede a lot as well. Lokeren have a lot of attacking quality in the shape of Harbaoui who leads the line, Vanaken who gets goals from midfield and Remacle who orchestrates the play from out wide.  They played very well in Liège last week and were unfortunate to come away with nothing so Peter Maes will want to ensure that doesn’t happen for the second week running.

Anderlecht OVER 1.5 goals against Lierse SK @ 1.30 (8/10)

Anderlecht had a terrible match last week against their bitter rivals Club Brugge. The champions lost 4-0 in the Jan Breydelstadion and were quite frankly dreadful from start to finish, never once gaining a foothold in midfield. They bounced back in midweek with a 7-0 win over KAS Eupen in the Cofidis Cup.  Coach John Van den Brom made a raft of changes and with a number of players having something to prove, they responded in style, albeit against second tier opposition, even if Eupen are going well.  This weekend Anderlecht take on Lierse we’re sure that John Van den Brom will only be satisfied with a win and some goals from his players so the media stops talking about their game against Club Brugge. Lierse were convincing winners over Kortrijk last week and Tony Watt has begun well, however, it’s a case of De Pallieters meeting the wounded tigers at just the wrong time in our view.

KV Oostende – Sporting Charleroi X2 @ 1.60 (7/10)

KV Oostende are playing a lot better in recent weeks, in part to thanks the feel-good factor of Marc Coucke’s takeover and some new signings. Last week against (a terrible) Gent they deserved the three points but had to settle for a draw. That said, we think Charleroi should be able to at least take a point home against De Kustboys. Charleroi are one of the most underestimated teams of the season this year. They have some good midfielders with Mohamed Daf and Danijel Milicevic and in David Pollet they have one of the best strikers in the league. KVO aren’t the tightest team at the back and with Charleroi coming off a win last week, 1.60 is a good price to back les Zèbres in the double chance market.
