Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini to RTBF on his future and Eden Hazard

The following is an English translation of an interview Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini did with French-language broadcaster RTBF journalists Manuel Jous and Cedric Lizin on Monday morning (11 June 2012):

A transfer

I am on holiday at the moment, I’m not paying too much attention to it. Every year, they say that I am going to be transfered here and there. But I am still at Everton. If it comes, I will take it, if it doesn’t come, I stay at Everton, where I am happy, and where I still have 4 years left on my deal. Everything happens quickly in football. You can be transfered tomorrow, like you can be in one or two years. At this point in time, I am on holiday. I am trying to switch off from football in order to return fresh at the start of next season. If there are concrete offers at the moment? If that’s the case, I am not aware of them…”

“They are talking about me at Chelsea? If I had to go there, I have several friends there. Hazard, Lukaku, De Bruyne, Courtois…There are lots of Belgians. It’s good for the national team. If I have to go there, I will, if not, I repeat, I am at Everton. I am ambitious, I want to play in the Champions League, if not the Europa League. Last season, we finished 7th with Everton and we did not reach qualification for Europe. It’s a pity. If an ambitious club comes in for me, why not, for the experience.”

Eden Hazard

Eden Hazard at Chelsea? It’s his choice. I think that he would have played for all the top English clubs because he has the qualities to do that. He’s a talent and he knows it! I don’t think that Chelsea will go wrong with him. If he will have less competition at Chelsea than at Manchester United or City? At a big club, there is always competition. There are a lot of alternatives. If you are not in form, you’ll be put on the bench right away.”
